MEHNDI HAND

In this lesson students viewed, analyzed and explored art of different cultures.  Students were then asked to focus on Mehndi art.  Students discussed the elements of art and design.  Students discussed the term symbolism. After these discussions students were asked to create and design a replica of their hand similar to the style of Mehndi Art.  Students were also required to use two elements of design, line and shape.  They were also required to include on image that reflected their personal culture.  Students were also asked to completed long-term goals they had for themselves and two expectations that they had for the teacher.After completing their design they were asked to write a summery about their successes and challenges the faced with their design.
