SELF-IDENTITY COLLAGE

In this lesson students learned about Romare Bearden and the art of collage. They learned how images can convey an inner story. Students were asked to complete a survey about themselves and then select images that reflect their identity like: family, friends, cultural heritage, spiritual beliefs, hobbies, interests, community, hopes, dreams, goals, likes, dislikes, skills, talents including activities,  experiences, and other life situations that contribute to who they are.  They were asked to create a self-identity collage using these images.
